My professional career began at 17 programming for a “big 3” computer manufacturer. Bored with code after a few years, I challenged myself by commencing a double degree in Electronics & Electrical Engineering while designing electronics for US fighter aircraft to fund studies.

After graduation, I began Project Managing commercial communications installations, and was rapidly promoted to Project Director of the countries largest military installations.

Changing career to data consultant, I approved comms for S.E. England Health Authority and designed data systems for multi-national enterprise.

I established consultancy agencies for engineering firms, and international communications companies, progressing to Head of Engineering for several multi-nationals.

Frustrated with the “Rat Race”, I opened an on-line retail selling e-Bikes in 2002. ZBike quickly became Australia’s largest e-Bike reseller.

In 2007, prohibitive legislation forced a move away from e-Bikes. I shifted focus to bicycle motors. The company (ZBox) was the worlds largest reseller of bicycle motors for over a decade, and a household name across much of Australia.

An environmental ban on 2-stroke engines in 2018 (coupled with age, and a desire for travel) prompted retirement.

This website is an expression of my continued passion to help, inspire, advise, and inform, others from my experience. Plus the engineer in me always drives a craving to satisfy my ‘inner geek’.
